特斯拉创始人：人类是电子游戏模拟物

（YiViAn 2016年6月3日）星期三，科技大亨兼新偶像Elon Musk在科技媒体Recode的年度Code Conference大会上发表了很多大胆的言论。例如他说“我将会在2025年把人送上火星”。不过还有更惊人的，他认为我们人类只是计算机模拟生成的事物。

他说，现在的技术发展迅速，已经模糊了虚拟与现实的界限，谁敢说没有一种技术可以让人类模拟过去的文明呢，这也就是说我们只不过是未来社会所模拟生成的事物，我们只不过是某人的游戏而已。他说只有十亿分之一的可能，我们是存在于现实中。

The strongest argument for us being in a simulation probably is the following. Forty years ago we had pong. Like, two rectangles and a dot. That was what games were.
我认为人类活在模拟中的理由是这样子的。在40年前，我们有《Pong》，就两个矩形和一个点。这就是游戏的开始。

Now, 40 years later, we have photorealistic, 3D simulations with millions of people playing simultaneously, and it’s getting better every year. Soon we’ll have virtual reality, augmented reality.
现在40年过去了，我们有3D模拟，数以百万记的人在线玩游戏。而且技术还在发展。我们很快有会拥有虚拟现实和增强现实。

If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then the games will become indistinguishable from reality, even if that rate of advancement drops by a thousand from what it is now. Then you just say, okay, let’s imagine it’s 10,000 years in the future, which is nothing on the evolutionary scale.
随着技术的发展，我们将分不清这是游戏还是现实。就算技术的进步比较慢，但是1000年后呢，我们可以想象到未来的情景。

So given that we’re clearly on a trajectory to have games that are indistinguishable from reality, and those games could be played on any set-top box or on a PC or whatever, and there would probably be billions of such computers or set-top boxes, it would seem to follow that the odds that we’re in base reality is one in billions.
所以按照这样子的轨迹，这样的游戏可以在任何一台PC或者是机箱里面玩，现在或许已经有10亿台这样的机器在运行。这也就是说我们只有十亿分之一的可能是活在现实中。

尽管这听上去有点危言耸听，但是他表示，科技可以让我们分不清何谓现实何谓虚拟。

或许，科技的进步将会改变人类的定义，很快我们就不知道跟自己交谈的那个人是人类还是机器人。而且，科学家一直也有类似的说法：我们的宇宙只不过是一个全息影像，可能是假的，或许只是外星人的玩具。

Musk这番言论并不新颖，但是他说的话非常有分量，总有一群书呆子、创业激进者把他的话语奉为经典。但是如果我们真的只是模拟模型的话，你渴望扮演什么生物呢？
